You’re now going to have ample opportunity to figure out who is Daddy Long Legs! Daddy Long Legs, starring Broadway alum Paul Alexander Nolan and Megan McGinnis, will now play an open-ended run off-Broadway. Directed by John Caird, the tuner, based on the 1912 novel by Jean Webster, features music and lyrics by Paul Gordon and a book by Caird and had previously been scheduled to shutter on January 10, 2016. The show is still set to begin previews on September 10 and officially open on September 28 at the Davenport Theatre.
Daddy Long Legs tells the tale of Jerusha Abbott (McGinnis), the oldest orphan in the John Grier Home. One day, a rich, anonymous benefactor (Nolan) decides to send her to college, but she must write him a letter once a month. Unaware of his identity, she invents a nickname for him: Daddy Long Legs. Through her letters, Jerusha shares her experiences of college while discovering her own identity and reveling in the wonders of literature, adventure and love. But one key fact eludes her—who is is Daddy Long Legs?
McGinnis is reprising her role from the London and West Coast productions.
